HAftab Posted September 3 Posted September 3 What I Think is: Supporting and caring for disabled child involves understanding, patience, and love. We can start by learning about child’s specific needs and abilities, which provide the right support. Create a daily routine that includes their needs and interests to give them structure and comfort. Quote
JSD24 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Temple Grandin talks about a gentle push. With younger kids you want to see growth and they might need to be pushed a little to grow. Ex: if they can count to ten, you might encourage them to learn 11 to 20. If they recognise letters of the alphabet, you can teach what sounds the letters make. At any age or ability, you need to have a growth mindset. My mom was a bookkeeper. She had worked for a company for over 10 years when they went from manual records to computerized records. She was around 60 when they did this. She learned the computer at this age. Quote
