About Me
Hi Everyone,
My name is Julie and I have a 9-year-old daughter named Lazayah. She is absolutely one of my hugest blessings and also my only child. My daughter was born with two missing chromosomes which has her delayed in many areas due to low muscle tone. I was told my daughter wouldn't be able to walk till age 10 but praise the Lord she started to walk at age 3. I had her in so many therapy sessions and was super thankful to have ECI in our life which helped me out tremendously. Not to mention the horseback lessons I was able to find near us and since then she has been such an athlete and a little go-getter. She was also born with a failure to thrive and I later realized it had so much to do with her low muscle tone but due to not eating much she would sometimes get symptoms of seizures which were very scary and I'm thankful that we haven't had a scare for now over 3 years. Overall I'm blessed and thankful she has come a long way. It has been upsetting though that since we started school I have not been able to understand why my daughter has not been having much progression just the beginning of the year I was so blessed to find this website while doing some research in trying to figure out how to go into the ARD meetings and present to them my concerns of not understanding what has been going on with her way of being taught and not learning. But after finding this site and reading Lisa Lighter's testimony of how she created this website and reading insight about her kid it has enlightened me to know I am not alone and I will be able to learn all I need to learn to make sure my daughter gets all that she needs to get to succeed.
