Classroom Observation

Lori Anne

Question

Sarasota, FL area here. My child is in grade 3. Who feels an observation of class would be helpful? His grades are ALL over the place! A, C, or F.

They (teacher and principal) have no interest in allowing it. Cited a legal items and now it's ok for a few minutes. Not the idea at all. Don't even care if it's electronic.

please provide input

Lisa has a post on parents observing in the classroom that may be helpful: https://adayinourshoes.com/can-parents-observe-classroom-iep/

Has your child been evaluated for special education services, or is the district providing some other sort of assistance with the academic struggles? If he has an IEP, have you already had an IEP team meeting to discuss your concerns?

He has had an IEP for 5 + years. He is 9. 4 hours weekly of services. Meeting scheduled for Friday am.  Thank you for the link!
