Question

Posted

I just received an email for the school psychologist in Missouri stating she cannot send any documents of the child (PWN and RED) to any outside agencies/advocates in an email.  The mother signed a release form from the school allowing myself access to all information.  Is this true?  We have a very heated 2 hr meeting yesterday.  I just want to know if the psychologist is playing hard ball and making things more difficult.

Thanks.

Does the school have a policy prohibiting them from sending the docs to an authorized third party via email? Would the school email the docs to Mom, and then Mom can forward them to you?

I am an advocate in Missouri and get PWN's, evaluation, etc., all the time from school districts via email.  But as Jenna stated, there might be a school district policy prohibiting this.  And if so, just have the mom email you all the documents.  If no school district policy, ask them for the federal or state law/reg/policy on which they are basing their actions.
