ThisIsNuts Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Has anyone ever been successful in getting an executive functioning curriculum included in your IEP? if it was a goal, how could it be measured? if it’s an SDI, how does it read? Quote
0 Site Admin Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 I have never been able to find a good exec functioning curriculum. Not the answer you want to hear, but the best success that my families have had is privately hiring an exec functioning coach. I did interview one on facebook live a few years ago, which may give some tips you can use. https://adayinourshoes.com/executive-functioning-coach/ Quote -------------------- This account is run by multiple people. 0 HighSchoolParent Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 My 9th grader has a study skills class that addresses some executive functioning skills, keeping track of assignments, goal setting, planning long term assignments, note-taking, study techniques, and self-advocacy. The study skills class seems to be standard for kids on IEPs in my son's school and goes over general EF skills many students need, but not necessarily the specific ones for each student. I have hired an EF coach through Outschool that has helped with specific things my son needs, like essay-writing and multistep math problems. Quote
